Surrounded by hot, arid deserts one of the greatest civilization emerged on the banks of the Nile River. To many historians, ancient Egypt is considered one of the greatest civilizations of the ancient world. Ancient Egypt flourished along the fertile banks of the Nile. The advanced civilization had a hierarchy that was led by a Pharaoh and produced some of the greatest public work projects ever built.
